Food supply in North Kosovska Mitrovica “unstable”

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA — Basic groceries supply in northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica is still unstable, say store owners.

They have said that KFOR usually does not let 3.5-ton trucks carrying goods from Serbia cross the administrative line.

On the other hand, citizens of northern Kosovska Mitrovica say they can buy necessary groceries for now and that there are enough products in the stores.

Local store owner Dragan Stefanović points out that there are enough foodstuffs for now, thanks to the old supplies. He pointed out however that there would not be enough foodstuffs to meet citizens’ needs if only 3.5-ton trucks could go through the Jarinje and Brnjak checkpoints.

He stressed that most stores had not received goods from Serbia since the crisis started.
